Organizations — Joining, Creating, and Leaving
An organization is the unit everything else in these docs belongs to — its own form,
sources, referrals, and member list. You can belong to more than one; switch between them with
the project selector in the top-left of the navigation bar.
Creating a new organization
- Go to Account → Join or create an organization.
- Under Create a new organization, enter a name and click Continue to payment.
- Choose how to pay:
- Pay with card on file — charges the card shown on the button straight away, without
leaving the page. This is the quickest route and is available once you have a card saved.
If your bank asks you to confirm the payment, or the card declines, you'll be sent to
Stripe to finish.
- Pay with a new payment method — opens Stripe's secure checkout page so you can enter a
different card. This is the only option for your very first organization, since there's no
card saved yet.
Either way, the organization is created once payment succeeds and you're taken straight into the
setup walkthrough.
Manage saved cards and invoices on the same page opens the Stripe billing portal, where you
can change your saved card or download past invoices. It does not create the organization —
come back to ARA and pay to finish that.
Joining an existing organization
If someone has shared an access code with you:
- Go to Account → Join or create an organization.
- Under Join an organization, enter the code (format
XXXX-XXXX).
- Click Submit and Join.
You'll need to reload the page for the newly joined organization to show up in the project
selector.
Removing an organization
Only the organization's owner can delete it, from Account → Join or create an organization
with ?org=<uuid> (linked from the account page for organizations you own).
This is permanent and immediate. Deleting an organization:
- Destroys all referrals and sources for it — there's no recovery.
- Instantly breaks every QR code and NFC card pointing at its form.
- Immediately affects every other member of the organization.
- Cancels that organization's subscription right away, and refunds 50% of the unused time left in
the period you've already paid for. See
Early cancellation refunds.
- Leaves your other organizations untouched — each one is billed on its own invoice.
You'll be asked to retype the organization's id to confirm before the delete button is enabled.
